Artificial intelligence emerged as a central theme on the second day of LEAP 2026 in Saudi Arabia, where exhibitors displayed the integration of AI, robotics, advanced computing, and digital services beyond traditional research settings. The event, which also featured DeepFest, showcased a diverse range of technologies, including humanoid robots, AI-powered prosthetics, and computing systems tailored for large-scale AI operations. These demonstrations underscored the growing application of AI solutions to address practical challenges across various industries.
Supermicro was among the key participants, unveiling advanced computing infrastructure designed to support organizations in expanding their AI capabilities. Mohammad Zahri, Supermicro’s Regional Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing environments capable of managing increasingly complex AI tasks, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation goals. Robotics captured significant attention, with Unitree presenting its advancements in intelligent robotics and AGIBOT showcasing humanoid systems that integrate perception, decision-making, and physical action. Abel Deng, AGIBOT’s President for the Middle East and Asia-Pacific region, described embodied AI as a pivotal evolution in human-technology interaction, transitioning AI from digital interfaces to tangible environments.
Another highlight was PSYONIC’s Bionic Hand, a prosthetic system designed to react to user movements, integrating sensor and motion data. This innovation exemplifies how AI and robotics can enhance human-machine interactions and assist individuals with physical tasks. Parallelly, Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation was spotlighted through Tawakkalna, a comprehensive digital government application backed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). During the event, 62 government entities were acknowledged for integrating their services into Tawakkalna, achieving the platform’s 2026 integration target. Tawakkalna now serves over 36 million users, offering access to more than 1,700 government services and processing in excess of 85 million transactions daily.
The latest integration added 926 services from participating government entities into a unified interface, broadening the spectrum of public services accessible to citizens, residents, and visitors through the platform. Annabelle Mander, Executive Vice President at Tahaluf, noted that the event marks a shift from theoretical discussions on AI’s potential to concrete demonstrations of technologies currently being deployed in sectors such as healthcare, robotics, space, and digital infrastructure. The discussions at LEAP 2026 also emphasized Saudi Arabia’s strategic use of emerging technologies to bolster domestic capabilities, spur innovation, and create wider economic opportunities.
