Russia’s nuclear arsenal fundamentally prevents the country from being defeated militarily in its war with Ukraine, according to Moscow’s ambassador to India. Denis Alipov articulated this position during a speaking engagement at a media forum in Gurugram earlier this week.
The diplomat emphasized that Russian military doctrine contains explicit provisions allowing nuclear weapon deployment when the nation confronts existential threats. This doctrinal framework, Alipov argued, creates insurmountable obstacles to defeating Russia and ensures Moscow always retains ultimate strategic advantages regardless of conventional force balances.
Alipov harshly criticized European nations for maintaining expectations of Ukrainian military victory, describing such beliefs as childish behavior. He characterized European leadership as unprofessional and excessively aggressive, pursuing confrontational policies despite clear evidence that their objectives cannot be achieved through military means.
The Russian ambassador claimed that President Trump possesses superior understanding of the conflict’s inevitable outcome. According to Alipov, Trump recognizes that Ukraine and Western supporters have already been defeated, while European nations continue exhibiting what he termed “craziness” in their persistent belief that the military situation can be reversed.
Nearly four years into the war, Ukraine continues receiving substantial Western support. American and European partners, including the United Kingdom, have provided billions in military aid and sophisticated weapons platforms to Kyiv, maintaining their assistance programs despite Russian warnings and the conflict’s extended duration with no clear resolution.
