by admin477351

Saudi Arabia and France are advancing their collaboration in the library sector, focusing on digital preservation and knowledge exchange. This initiative was highlighted during a meeting between Abdulrahman Al-Asem, CEO of the Libraries Commission in Saudi Arabia, and French Ambassador Patrick Maisonnave in Riyadh. The discussions emphasized an executive program between the Saudi Libraries Commission and the National Library of France, aiming to digitize library materials and exchange electronic copies.

The program also targets the development of digital collections and the provision of professional training. Both parties are keen on expanding cultural and knowledge-based cooperation, with several joint projects planned for 2026. This enhanced partnership aims to leverage the expertise of both nations in library sciences and digital innovations.

By focusing on digitization and training, Saudi Arabia and France are positioning themselves at the forefront of library modernization. The collaboration seeks to create a more connected and accessible library network, potentially serving as a model for international library cooperation.
